Junsu Park is an innovative artist whose work challenges conventional uses of leather by transforming it into sculptural, pottery-like forms. His signature "Bowl" series showcases leather in a new light, where the material is not just cut but meticulously coiled and layered to create three-dimensional shapes. With a background in metal craft, Junsu was inspired by traditional vegetable leather techniques he learned in Italy. He applies these raw and natural aesthetics to his work, using leather that is tanned by sunlight and polished by friction. Each of his pieces is uniquely formed by hand, reflecting a deep connection to organic processes and an appreciation for the evolving beauty of natural materials. Junsu’s work embodies a commitment to sustainable practices, creating art that grows and adapts like a living organism.
