ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kyoungyoon Pak is an artist whose work blurs the boundaries between woodcraft, ceramics, and metalwork. His unique finishing techniques transform wood into pieces that often resemble ceramics or metal, challenging the viewer's perception of materials. Despite using wood as his primary medium, Kyoungyoon intentionally erases the wood grain, creating sculptures that double as functional objects, such as trays. His creative process is deeply meaningful, focusing on the act of creation rather than the end result. Having faced a difficult past, Kyoungyoon finds solace in working with wood, using it as a canvas to transcend his personal pain.
